Teresa Kok Menagih Simpati

Namun, blognya http://teresakok.com terus mencurah artikel berunsur menarik perhatian Muslimin hatta Mukminin supaya ia mendapat perhatian orang Melayu keseluruhannya.

Sisters in Islam call for freedom
September 17th, 2008 by DAP Seputeh

Press statement

12 September 2008

Sisters in Islam (SIS) calls upon the Malaysian government for the immediate release of Raja Petra Kamaruddin, MP Teresa Kok and Ms Tan Hoon Cheng who are currently detained under the draconian Internal Security Act (ISA).

As a member of the Abolish ISA Movement, SIS reiterates our strong opposition against the use of ISA under any circumstances. This draconian law that allows a citizen to be detained without trial not only violates a person’s fundamental rights, but is also against the basic principle of democracy upheld in Malaysia.

As a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council, the Malaysian government should in fact ensure for all its citizens to be able to exercise their basic right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty, the right to legal counsel and for them to exercise their citizens’ basic right for a fair trial in an open court.

ABIM condemns use of ISA
September 17th, 2008 by DAP Seputeh

Press Statement

The Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia (ABIM) strongly affirms that Malaysia is a country of laws not of men. We are a country which respects the rule of law and its equal application to all citizens under our Constitution and our guiding Islamic principles.

At no time should a person be detained without undergoing due process of law, in which the right to fair hearing is of utmost importance, and criminal prosecution initiated for unreasonable purposes. Such an action, regardless of the initiating party, goes against the principles of natural justice and the Syari’ah which mandates impartiality, justice and fairness. Continue Reading »
