Bas awam yang jatuh gaung dan mengorbankan 37 orang di Genting Highlands semalam tidak disenaraihitamkan. Pengerusi SPAD , Syed Hamid Albar menyatakan ianya hanyalah khabar angin.
Bas tersebut juga tidak melebihi muatan kerana muatan yang dibenarkan ialah 65 - 45 duduk dan 20 berdiri.
Cuma yang belum difahamkan, bas tersebut tidak layak dipandu dimukabumi sedemikian. Manakala penumpang berdiri untuk perjalanan yang jauh hingga ke puncak gunung dan sebaliknya adalah tidak bersesuaian sama sekali.

Meanwhile, Syed Hamid said the bus was not overloaded as claimed by certain quarters adding that it had a seating capacity of 45 and 20 for standing.
“The bus at the time of the incident was not overloaded (it was ferrying 53 passengers), according to the conditions of the (vehicle) license (permit).”
Syed Hamid also quashed rumours that the bus was black-listed for various traffic offences.
Meanwhile, Wong explained that the road condition, environment and especially the competency of the bus driver would be among the matters to be looked into.
“We want to carry out an in-depth study and too early to even speculate on what measures could be taken," he said.
